BC177 Working
- In the biased state of BC177, it has -200 mA of current about the CE junction, called the saturation state.
- For loads using more than 200 mA of current, it can affect the circuit. If the current supply at base terminals is disconnected, transistors will be off, and this state is called the cut-off region and not the current flow in the collector-emitter junction.
- The BC177 transistor has a gain value of 125 to 500 that is used for defining the amplification features of transistors. Peak current is provided of 200 mA.
- To turn on the transistor, BC177 needed some amount of current. The base current value is less than 10 mA and runs on when the base is connected with GND and turns off when a positive voltage is connected with the base.
- When ON, the switch transistor is connected to the base pin with the ground, and the transistor will be on base voltage, becoming more in the base turn-off voltage range of 0.7 to 0.9 volts.
- These transistor base pins are not floating, which can cause some issues in the circuit. To solve the problem, make pullup resistors for pulling up transistors to base VCC.
How to use BC177 Transistor Safely?
- For using a BC177 transistor in a circuit in safe condition, it is referred to use a transistor less than 20 percent of its maximum rating. Its maximum collector current is 100 mA. The high collector-to-emitter voltage is -45V, not using>-36V load.
- Storing and working conditions for these transistors are >-65 °C and< 150°C temperature.
