LED Display or (light-emitting diode display) is a screen display that employs LED panels for the light source. A larger number of devices either small use LED displays as a screen and interaction medium for users and the system. The latest electronic devices like mobile phones, TVs, tablets, and computer monitors come with LED displays to display their output.
What is an LED Display?
The LED display is a flat panel display that comes with LED array for pixels for video display. They have a brightness that helps to be used outdoors where are visible to the sun for store signs and billboards.
Now they are commonly used for destination signs on public transport vehicles, and also for variable message signs on highways.
Led display has features to offer general illumination with the visual display when used for stage lighting or decorative purposes.

Text Display LEDs
This type of LED comes with the basic screen having an array of LEDs and is made to show text and alphanumeric details. it is good to note that these LEDS displays are preprogrammed to display certain types of text. Such as a Welcome LED board installed on different entrances or buildings or some other words like “We’re Open”/”We are closed” LED boards can seen at different places
Image display LED
This LED comes with two LED screens and these screens operate at time to show images. These LEDS also have features to show text. The images and text displayed in the images display are static. These LEDS can seen on different billboards.
Video display
They are the type of LEDs that can seen on the latest billboard ads like that installed in Times Square. These LEDs are made for showing different high-pixel LEDs that display moveable images of high resolution.
Digital display
The basic difference between a digital display and a text display LED is taht a digital display screen is made for showing numeric values. They glow red or glowing orange light and it is due to they are made with 7 7-segment digital Nixie tubes. These Nixie tubes use 7 segments for making digits to show. We mostly see that these LEds used in banks for showing currency data or in digital clocks.
LED Lattice Image Text Display
This LED has features to show text and image data at the same time. They come with matrices of LEDs that are configured in a series of rows and operate to show both texts and images. It has a feature to show text in movements, but it also shows still pictures. These LEDs show different types of text in motion. These LEDs are used at airports for showing gate details and flight details and also used at stadiums for showing statistics and part of some billboards.
How LED Displays Work?
These LEDs display glow with the use of small bulbs called LEDs. These diodes come with semiconductor materials that help electrons to pass them and generate energy in light form when current passes.
RGB:
For making visuals pop through colors, LED uses a combination of 3 basic colors Red, Green, and Blue also called RGB.
Every LED releases any colors out of 3 and through mixing and setting the intensity of these colors they generate spectrums of hues, and provide digital images and text with different colors LED screens.
 Refresh Rate and Frame Rate:
LED displays come with refresh rates and frame rates for keeping everything working smoothly and making sure that visuals are properly colorful but also smooth.

Resolution and Pixel Pitch
Resolution
- It is several pixels that are displayed and are defined in the form of width x height such as 1920×1080. High resolution defines more details for visuals.
Pixel Pitch
- It is the distance between individual pixels that affects image quality. Small pixel pitch values provide high pixel density and increase display features to show complicated details
 Microcontrollers Use
The controller wor as the main component behind the LED displays. These processors are embedded in the display system and are important for handling the working behind LEDs.
They define signals from the control system and driver ICs to make sure proper LED brightness control and color

- They are in different types of options such as configured in different spaces either curved, folded, and best to use at different designs
- They are eco-friendly displays not have a bad effect on the weather since not have mercury
What are SMD and DIP
SMD (Surface-Mount Device) and DIP (Dual In-line Package) are different technologies used for making LED panels but perform the same work, and are different in design. SMD LEDs are small in size and slim and provide larger view angles, high brightness, and larger pixel density.
So they are best to use for indoor displays that need high resolution.
DIP LEDS come in larger sizes and cylindrical shapes that is best to use for outdoor displays. They are longer working devices and have visibility from different angles.
