Length of Wire
Longer wires increase resistance and high voltage losses. For 100 feet, there can be 20 percent voltage losses. As a result, the circuit does not have the required energy to operate the device.

Such as if there is a need for 200 feet of wire for a 50-amp circuit. First of all, get the standard amp rating by dividing the circuit rating by 80 percent of the safe operating rating. 50 amp circuit divided with 80 percent result will be 62.5 amps.
A 6-gauge wire is needed for a 50-amp breaker. But as the wire is 200 feet, multiply the gauge with 40 percent voltage losses; the result will be 2.4, and multiply it by 62.5A; the result will be 150A.
According to the measured rating, follow the NEC chart and find the accurate gauge size. So the 200-foot-wide, 50-amp circuit uses 3/0 AWG.
