What is ARP

What is RARP
- The RARP stands for reverse address resolution protocol is a computer-based protocol that works through the user’s computer to request an IP address through the gateway address resolution protocol
- The system users make a table in the gateway router that is employed for mapping the MAC address to the resultant IP address
- This protocol is employed to communicate data among the 2 points for the server. The users do not need certain knowledge the server defines the ability to serve the request
- MAC address needed a single configuration at the server through the administrator
- RARP restricts serving the IP address
- If other machines are set up machine will not have a configured disc that can regularly save IP addresses therefore the RARP users program instructs IP address through the RARP server at the router
RARP Disadvantages
- The RARP server must be configured in a similar physical system
- The computer transmits the RARP requests at less cost of the system. So it is unaccessible for the router to send the pocket since the computer transmits the RARP request at less cost system
- This module is not able to handle the subnetting procedure since no subnet mask is transmitted
- There is the configuration of the subnet and RARP collected
- It did not completely use the potential of networks such as Ethernet
ARP vs RARP
- ARP full form is address resolution protocol and RARP full form is reverse address resolution protocol
