2016 vs. 2032 battery
- CR2016 operated at 3 volts with a power capacity of 75 mAh. CR2032 is thick but comes with 3 volts and has a high power of about 200 mAh. The main difference in thickness is that CR2032 is double as thick as CR2016.
CR2032 vs. CR2016
- The capacity of CR2032 is 250 mAh, and CR2016 has 90 mAh. R2032 can provide 10 hours of work, and CR2016 about 6 hours on the basis of use.
Are CR2016 and CR2032 interchangeable?
- The capacity of the CR2032 is 240 mAh, offering about ten hours of use for an average load of 24 mA.
- The capacity of CR2016 is 90 mAh and works for 6 hours with a load of 15 mA.
- These two batteries are 3-volt batteries.
- CR2032 thickness is 3.2 mm, and CR2016 thickness is 1.6 mm.
These batteries have different thicknesses but some similarities. Both are 3-volt batteries and have non-rechargeable features.
These two also have different capacities, so they are non-interchangeable due to different thicknesses.
How Long Does CR2032 Run?
- If used in a computer and different devices, the CR2032 battery maintains function for about 2 years before depletion. For estimation of battery working life, we can measure its total charge in mAh with current use.
- In conditions where devices regularly use one microamp or less, the CR2032 battery can work for about 10 years. These features work when CR2032 is used for computer BIOS power delivery. But in some features, the battery is operated by supplying extra current.

Can one CR2032 replace two CR2016 batteries?
If you are using two CR2016 batteries as replacements for the CR2032 in series, it will not work. The connection of batteries in this configuration makes power about 6 volts, which does not work in devices created for 3 volts (CR2032).
In a parallel combination connection, 2 CR2016 batteries can work as a replacement for CR2032. It maintains a voltage of 3 volts and gives a power value of about 150 mAh. It is important to understand that there is less than one CR2032; just about 3/4 of it can do.
CR2016 Application
The CR2016 battery is used frequently as compared to other batteries. The CR2016 battery is used in different devices and has applications like calculators and PC notebooks. Electronic keys, IC cards, etc.
CR2032 Application
The CR2032 battery is used in different devices such as computer motherboards, car key fobs, watches, PDAs, garage door openers, toys, sporting goods, calorie counters, etc.
Relationship between CR2016 and CR2032
- CR2016 and CR2032 have different thicknesses but are the same in many features. These two have 3 volts, and no one can recharge. But it is good to note that there are changes in features.
- CR2032 has a 240 mAh capacity, and CR2016 has a 90 mAh capacity. The CR2032 offers 10 hours of use, and the CR2016 has 6 hours of use.
- These two batteries have different capacities and offer different run times, causing issues. Their different power makes them not use the same devices.
Can we replace CR2016 with CR2032?
- As both batteries have the same chemistry and nominal voltage, they cannot be used for replacement of each other. If you make some changes, it can be done.
- CR2016 is thinner as compared to CR20132. With the connection of an aluminum component with a battery-positive terminal, we can increase thickness.
- In this process, CR2016 can be configured in the CR2032 battery place.
- CR2032 will not fit in the CR2016 battery position since its size is double. In other words, CR2032 will not be replaced with CR2016.

CR2016 vs. CR2032: Self-discharge
CR2016 Self-discharge
Panasonic lithium CR2016 still has 90 percent of its initial capacity after ten years, providing good longevity.
Their good chemical stability remains consistently high due to the use of an amalgamation of lithium and manganese dioxide.
It also has good discharge performance over different operating temperatures in low-load discharge conditions.
CR2032 Self-discharge
The CR2032 battery also has 90 percent initial capacity. The chemical stability of the battery is due to the use of a mixture of lithium and manganese dioxide. They can work for different operating conditions, especially under low-load discharge conditions.
