In 1892 half dollars were designed and made again so it is known as Barbar type dollar. Designer Charles E. Barber Miss Liberty faces right comes with hair in a Phrygian cap, and her head wreath of laurel encircles. LIBERTY word is mentioned on a small band or ribbon over her forehead. IN GOD WE TRUST is written over with 7 stars right side and 6 stars on the left and below them date is written. In the surrounding area, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and HALF DOLLAR are written. This head of MISS Liberty also exists on quarters and dimes of that time.

From 1892 to 1915 Philadelphia and San Francisco continued mintage and some more coins were provided by New Orleans through 1909 and in 196 from Denver beginning. History of the Barber Half Dollar

There was high demand for replacing the design of the Seated Liberty half-dollar, which looked bland. In 1891, There was a competition arranged by  Mint Director Edward Leech to change the design. He also had a reward for the best design but did not get any best designs due to fewer designs received. The Mint director changed his mind and asked Mint Chief Engraver Charles Barber to make designs for half a dollar, dime, and quarter. As a result, there were Barber coin series was started. Barbara’s silver half a dollar was minted at San Francisco and Philadelphia mints from 1892 to 1915.

At the front side of this coin, there is Liberty facing right and having a Phrygian cap encircled by a wreath. That is covered by thirteen 6-pointed stars at the edges of coins. On the back side, it comes with a United States seal with thirteen 5-pointed stars over the eagle. The eagle comes with a shield on its body and has a live branch in one claw and a bundle of arrows. At its peak is a ribbon written E Pluribus Unum.

Confirming this was a challenging process and design started in June 1891 and the first coins were not struck till November 1891. The Barber Half Dollar was made from 1892 to 1915. From the start of their creation till 1905 they were made at Philadelphia, New Orleans, and San Francisco Mints. Starting in 1906, some dates were also minted in Denver. After 1909, coins were no longer minted in New Orleans. Coins were produced at the Philadelphia Mint every year of the series.
