The ampacity of 16-gauge wire
- The ampacity of 16 AWG wire for 90 degrees is 18 amps. The ampere value of 16 AWG wire does not defined based on 75 degrees and 60 degrees since this wire is small in size and has a low chance of overheating for low current as compared to larger AWG wires.
- The wires that have ratings based on 75 and 60 degrees are used for lights and receptacle circuits. While 16 gauge is not used for handling larger loads.

- In other words, 16-gauge wire can handle 13 amps, so it can easily handle 10 amps at 12 volts.
